Happy Spring to everyone,

I can’t say enough about what a loooong winter this has been and I think we all agree that it’s time for warm weather, flip flops, getting outside and feeling the dirt beneath our toes (and fingers)! Don’t you agree?

I want to introduce you to the kids in our Youth Mentor Program … Meet Sabrina (who is 11), Charles (9) and Michael  JUST turned 10.  We are so happy to be able to work with these great kids.  Thanks to our "host-space” provider, Drum & Strum, we meet every Friday afternoon to plant our eco-awareness seeds.

So what are the kinds of things we do together? Each week we talk about how they have changed their RECYCLING behavior at home.  Like are you turning the water off while you brush your teeth?  Turning the lights off when you leave the room?  All three kids say that they now "THINK” about these little steps each and every day (and that they kinda didn’t before).

Musically speaking, they are learning the RAP to our theme song "Think Ecologically.”  I have to say that they are getting quite good at singing this song and I LOVE being with them.

Their first performance is coming up (Habitat for Humanity Earth Day Celebration). So stay tuned on their development.
